Thomas “Tom” Charles Ottowitz, 57, of Machesney Park, IL passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at home with his wife by his side. He was born in Rockford, IL on March 10, 1966, the son of the late James and Shirley (Watson) Ottowitz.

Tom was a loving husband and father. He was fun loving and enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved being a “Popa”. He was always willing to help his family and friends. Tom loved the pets he rescued, with the last being Smalls; all were truly part of the family.

Survived by his wife, Rose; children, Adam (Jazelle), Josie (Josh) Franklin, Lindsay and Dustin; grandchildren, Kai Franklin, Julius Franklin, Avalynn, and Lilliana; siblings, Mary (Dave) Urbelis, Michael (Twyla), David (Jennifer), and Stacey (Brett) Timke; nieces and nephews, Aaron, Jacob, Ireland, Teagan, Alex, and Adalyn.

Tom will be missed deeply by his friends and family.

We would like to thank everyone that has been supportive of Tom and his wife during the last few years of his life.

There will be a private celebration of life on Saturday, July 8, 2023 for family and close friends.
