Richard Bland Obituary

Richard T. Bland, 66, of Loves Park passed away Friday, March 15, 2019. Born October 23, 1952 in Rockford to William and Stella (Szrajba) Bland. A graduate of Boylan Catholic High School class of 1971. Married Marilyn Alberts July 8, 1972 in Loves Park at St. Bridget Catholic Church. Employed as a supervisor for Aquamatics/General Electric and was a bus driver for District 205. In the summers, Richard was also employed by the Rockford Park District. Richard was a master taxidermist for 42 years. In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors and trips to Alaska. Most of all, Richard enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and going to Disney World.

Survivors include wife, Marilyn Bland; daughters, Michelle (Hal) Wirtjes, Jennifer (Micheal) Sheppard; and grandchildren, Isabella, Liliana, Gigi, Noah and Sam.

Private services are to be held. Memorials may be given to the family to be established at a later date.
