Luella "Lou" M. McNeal

April 2, 1950 ~ August 23, 2023 (age 73) 73 Years Old

Obituary

On August 23, 2023, Luella "Lou" Marie McNeal, born April 2, 1950, to Ted and Martha Cieslak, went to the greatest craft room in the sky. Lou and her husband Dennis met via mutual friends and were married December 16, 1967. Soon after, they had three children: Stephanie, Dennis, and Melissa.

Lou was the life of the party.  We'd like to remember her dancing to Tom Jones, her amazing birthday party planning, and her ever-meticulous, never-ending until pure perfection crafting, Halloween decorations and costumes. She was not shy, and you can bet she would ask you 1,000 questions, but in her words, she wasn't nosy--she was inquisitive. She was never one to keep her feelings inside, and we will miss her honesty, even if at times, it was brutal.

In addition to being a mother, Lou's favorite title was grandma. She enjoyed taking WAY too many pictures and creating scrapbooks. We wish we would have made her be in more pictures, so she would be in more of them.  QVC and HSN may find a decrease in business, and for that we'd like to apologize, but knowing she is breathing easy now continuing her life as the ultimate daddy's girl and garden supervisor makes us happy.

Luella leaves behind her husband of nearly 56 years, Dennis; daughters, Stephanie (Mark) and Melissa; son, Dennis; grandchildren, Megan (Nick) and Nicolas (Juliana); and the light of her last two years, great-grandson Greyson; siblings, Jo, Mari (Roy), Jimmy (Deb), and Charlie (Becky); many nieces and nephews and family friends, too many to count.

She was predeceased by her mother, father, and brother Ted.

Family would like to give a special thanks to Kathy Johnson (sister-in-law) for Lou's favorite stuffed French toast and help throughout the years. Also, thanks to St. Croix Hospice and nurse Alana for the amazing care.

Luella's kids and grandkids would like to give the biggest thanks to their dad/papa for his love and care for her through all of her struggles until the end.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you hug your loved ones tight tonight and drink a virgin strawberry daiquiri in her honor.
