Fred E. Mehren

Frederick Ewing Mehren, 83, of Rockford passed away peacefully Sunday, February 19, 2023. Fred was born May 27, 1939 in Platteville, WI, the son of Otto and Aletha (Ewing) Mehren. After graduating Platteville High School, Fred came to Rockford to attend Rockford Business College where he received a BS in business administration. Fred’s last position was Showroom Lighting Manager at Foresco Lighting in Rockford retiring in 1979 due to health reasons.

Fred married Judith Ann Lee, also from Platteville, WI on November 29, 1958. They stayed in Rockford and raised their beautiful family.

Survivors include wife, Jude; son, Steven (Lori Schnorr) of Rockford, 3 grandsons, Sean (Inha) Mehren of Rockford, Ryan (Maggie Orlando) Mehren of Madison, WI, Joshua (Kaitlyn McKec) Blascoe of Machesney Park; Sisters-in-law, Nancy (Tom) Ziegenfuss of Platteville, WI, Joanne Lee of Madison, WI; brother-in-law, Henry (Judy) Bossenbroek of Platteville, WI; and many loving nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; and his daughter, Sherry Kay Blascoe “Daddy’s little girl.”

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 25, 2023 in Court Street United Methodist Church, 215 N. Court Street, Rockford with a visitation from 10:00 AM until time of service in the church. A luncheon to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Court Street United Methodist Church.
