Dan L. Schiro

Dan L. Schiro, 62, of Loves Park, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023.  He was born on June 2, 1961 in Rockford to Anthony and Mildred (McDaniel) Schiro.  He was a graduate of West High School.  He married Sharon Schiro in Rockford on September 5, 1981.  He lived in the area for 32 years after serving in the U.S. Army for ten years.  He was a member of New Life Pentacostal Church of Harvard for 10 years and recently started attending Firstborn Ministries for one year.  Dan enjoyed playing Chess, studying the Bible, helping others get saved through Acts 2:38, painting, making games, watching and feeding birds, and watching shows regarding Big Foot.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon; children, David (Kim) Schiro, Sara (Derrick) Ryks, Blade Schiro, Breeze (Jeff) Wheaton; grandchildren, Taylor Thom, Alexis Thom, Blaze Schiro, Emerald Schiro, Isaiah Wheaton, Zyon Ryks, Zarya Ryks, and Malachi Wheaton.  Predeceased by grandchild, Zaryssa Ryks; parents, Anthony and Mildred Schiro; and sisters, Dawn Schiro and Starla Feltz.

Memorial service will be at 4:00pm with a visitation from 2:30pm until the service on Saturday, June 24, 2023 in Firstborn Ministries, 8213 N. Alpine Rd., Loves Park, IL 61111.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sara Ryks.
