Carol J. Cassiano of Rockford, IL was born on January 26th, 1947 in Bell, California. Our precious mother fought many health issues over the last year and is the strongest woman we will ever know. She fought cancer twice in her life and beat it both times. Unfortunately, an unforeseen illness unexpectedly took her life on Sunday, April 24th, 2022 at Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, IL.
Our mother was happily retired and devoted her life to her children and her grandchildren. Her family was the most important part of her life. She enjoyed Christmas the most because the whole family would come to her house and celebrate. She was the absolute best cook and loved watching all the cooking shows!
She is survived by her four children, who made up the entirety of her world, Nick (Kim) Cassiano (age 53), Desiree Cassiano (age 49), Justin (Liane) Cassiano (45), and Amber (Axel) Stromberg (age 42); her grandchildren, Brandon Cassiano, Ben Cassiano, Sam Cassiano, Jade Neukirch, Sienna Walaszek, Coral Walaszek, Ayden Walaszek, Aubri Walaszek, Tiffany Cassiano, Kylee Cassiano, Jaydin Cassiano, Haylen Stromberg, and Gavin Stromberg; her siblings, Nancy (Tom) Goodman and Bill Jahnkow.
Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Marek; her father, Harold Jahnkow and her brother, Thomas Jahnkow.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 14th, 2022 at her home in Rockford, IL for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. God has gained a beautiful angel and she will be forever missed by everyone!
