Betty VandenBerg Obituary

Betty Ann VandenBerg, of Beloit WI, fell asleep on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 surrounded by family. She was born on July 19, 1929 to Elmer and Leona Leverenz in Milwaukee, WI. Betty was a woman that was full of life and zeal. From a young age she took an interest in knowing the truth about God. Around the age of 10, she was included in a bible study held at her parent’s home. The things she heard touched her heart, and she was convinced she had found something of great value. On August 8, 1946, at the age of 17, she dedicated her life in baptism as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at an international convention held in Cleveland, Ohio. On October 25, 1947 Betty married Matthew VandenBerg, and together they continued in their Bible education work, volunteering as full time ministers. She has been a member of the West Shore Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1951. Betty has touched the lives of many people, and she is well known in Beloit as a zealous preacher and teacher.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Betty also loved writing poems, traveling, playing games with her family, baking, quilting, and reading. She had an unwavering faith in God’s promises for the future, including his promise of bringing those asleep in death back to life, along with their loved ones, to live forever on a Paradise earth that is completely free of sickness, old age, pain, and death.

Betty in survived by three children, Tom (Penny) VandenBerg, Beloit, WI, Marilyn (Mike) Plucinski, Monroe, WI, and Joel (Charlotte) VandenBerg, Beloit WI; her grandchildren Chad VandenBerg, Natasha VandenBerg, Leah VandenBerg (Aaron) Leair, Heidi (Zach) Steele, Sam (Kelli) VandenBerg, Maximillian (Kristen) Plucinski, Maddie (Esteban) Ruiz, and Katie (Cole) Moore; and her four great grandchildren Adalia and Maraskya Leair, Ocean and Kennedy Vistaine. She was preceded in death by her husband Matthew, and her two brothers, Clarence and Wayne Leverenz.
