Thomas Earl Benjamin

Thomas Earl Benjamin, 74, of Rockford passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019. Born May 2, 1944 in Rockford to James Earl and Ellen Charlotte (Nelson) Benjamin. A veteran of the US Airforce serving during peacetime. Married Candace Gordon on February 14, 1991 in Rockford. Retired in 2002 from Cassens Transport after 30 years. Thomas enjoyed golfing and the Chicago Bears and Cubs.

Survivors include wife, Candy “Suzie” Benjamin; children, Gina Marie (Tim) Graham, Nathan (Tressa) Benjamin; grandchildren, Kristen Graham, Justin Graham, Joshua Benjamin, Grace Benjamin, Maddie Oldenburg; great granddaughter, Mila Mundle; siblings, John (Connie) Benjamin, Carole (Tom) Sjedin, JoAnn (Tim) Christiansen; sister-in-law, Sheri Benjamin; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; brother, Jim Benjamin; and sister, Sandy Benjamin.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2019 in New Life Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1100 N. Lyford Road, Rockford with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the family to be used in Thomas’s name at a later date.
