Clarence Nance Obituary

Clarence L. Nance, 83, of Belvidere, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019 in his home surrounded by his loving family, just two days before he was to celebrate 55 years with the love of his life, Sallie (Novak) Spears. Clarence was born on December 4, 1935 in Makanda, IL, son of James and Mable Nance.  On July 12, 1964 Clarence married Sallie in Rockford, Illinois. In 1969 they moved to Belvidere. He worked at the Chrysler plant for 15 years after which he ran his own auto body mechanic shop and served the community for many years. Over the years Clarence enjoyed fishing, fixing up classic vehicles, playing soft ball, bowling, and spending time with friends and family.  Clarence and Sallie made many lifelong friendships through the years.

Those left to honor Clarence’s memory include his wife Sallie; children and spouses, Tom (Toni), Sherri (Herb), Lisa (Randy), Mark (Carol), and Duane (Stacie); grandchildren, Eric (Erica), Shayne, Danielle (Eric), Trista (Cody), Brooke, Chase (Jade), and Cheyenne; great-grandchildren, Eric, Kalup, Angel, Shylar, Shayden, and Lainey.  Also survived by his siblings, Virgil (Joyce), Dee, Cletus (Nancy), Roger, Darrell (Annette), all residing in Tennessee.

The family would like to thank Northern Illinois Hospice for their loving care during this time. Quest Cremation Services, Loves Park, was honored to have assisted the family.  A celebration of life memorial service and luncheon will be held at The River’s Edge Recreation Center, 1151 W. Locust Street, Belvidere, IL 61008 on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
