How Are Funerals Changing?

In previous generations, two or three day wakes were the norm and virtually all funeral services were the same. Over the past several decades, there has been a definite trend toward greater simplicity and flexibility in the arrangements that families select.

The most obvious examples of this are the preferences for shorter visitations and memorial services held in places holding meaning for the family; we've held services in private homes and VFW halls to name a few. Today a brief review of the obituaries clearly indicates that families are seeking a variety of choices.
